For several weeks, new types of fake 10 and 20 Euro notes have been circulated. This was reported by the State Office of Criminal Investigation (LKA) Schleswig-Holstein. The counterfeit money first appeared in northeastern Hamburg and in southern Schleswig-Holstein, but can now be found nationwide.
These are false banknotes that lack the security features and have the print "prob copy" printed on their backs. The apparently mass-produced color copies could be purchased for little money from Asian providers on the Internet. The 10-Euro Falkenote has always been the serial number PA7497803159, the 20-Euro Falkenote the number UC1366259581.
Striking is, according to LKA, that many false notes could be secured in school canteens. Some bills seemed intentionally placed on sidewalks or other public places. Finder had then used them according to the police as a means of payment.
