Three regions, Veneto, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, drive national consumption of durable goods, which in 2019 will reach almost 75 billion euros (+ 2.1%, or 1.5 billion), 7% of total consumption , contributing to the growth of domestic ones (+ 1.1%), which has continued for 6 years, albeit in attenuation (+ 1.8% in 2018). The figures are from the 26th edition of the Findomestic Consumer Observatory, in collaboration with Prometeia, presented in Milan. Consumer credit, positive for 8 years (+ 3.9% in 2019), has a growing incidence in the consumption of durable goods and is increasingly perceived as an opportunity to undertake otherwise unrealizable projects.
Italians mainly spend on two and four-wheel vehicles and to furnish and beautify their homes, thanks also to the increase in property sales (over 6%) and to the extension of tax incentives. Conversely, for the first time in 10 years, spending on telephony has fallen, a sector also affected by the expectation of 5G.

Consumer credit has been growing for eight years and is increasingly becoming a support to consumption and is increasingly affecting e-commerce. According to the Findomestic Observatory, at the 26th edition, produced with Prometeia and presented in Milan. today we buy 91.6% of motorcycles and scooters, 90% of used cars and over 75% of new cars. Also in the consumer technology sector (household appliances, electronics and telephony) credit penetration is significant (17%), reflecting how consumer credit is today a fundamental tool to support the family economy.
