Nobel laureate Peter Handke is no longer tolerated in Kosovo - the government has declared him persona non grata. Handke is not welcome in Kosovo, Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli wrote on Facebook. "Denying crime and supporting criminals is a terrible crime."
Because of his pro-Serbian attitude during the Balkan Wars, Handke is still provoking heated controversy. He also provoked criticism in 2006 with a speech at the burial of former Serbian head of state Slobodan Milosevic, accused of war crimes and genocide.

Recently, Handke defended his Yugoslavian attitude and mobbed critical questions from journalists.
Kosovo had already boycotted the presentation of the Nobel Prize for Literature to Handke this Tuesday in Stockholm. The ambassadors of Albania, Bosnia, Northern Macedonia, Turkey and Croatia also refused to participate in the Nobel Prize for Literature. In Stockholm, between 500 and a thousand protesters protested against Handke's award.
