Bad weather: It snows in the North. Schools closed in Rome

The weekend of December as not seen for some time, in the name of cold and snow that has already whitened the North, even the plain, reaching as far as Tuscany. For the moment there are no major discomforts, but according to meteorologists in the coming hours, and near the weekend, the "Santa Lucia storm" is expected, a sort of "cyclone" that will cross Italy from North to South. In Rome the schools will be closed: "Following the weather warning issued by the Civil Protection of the Lazio Region - reads a note from the Campidoglio - the Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi is signing an order to arrange the closure of all tomorrow schools of order and degree, parks, cemeteries and historic villas ".

So much so that the Department of Civil Protection has issued a new weather alert that foresees starting from the late morning of tomorrow stormy winds up to storms on eastern Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, especially in the coastal and southern sectors, involving Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia and Puglia. Expected, moreover, precipitations spread locally also very intense and accompanied by hailstorms on Campania, Basilicata and Calabria, especially on the Tyrrhenian areas. In the meantime, the Veneto has come to terms with the snow on the plain: weak precipitations, but which have affected Padua, Verona, Vicenza, Rovigo, but also the Asiago plateau and the Veronese mountains of Lessinia.

Other snow also in Valtellina and Valchiavenna, in the province of Sondrio with the risk of night frosts due to the announced drops in temperatures. Also the Mantuan whitewashed, while the first snow reached Tuscany with the passes of the Appennino whitened and the means in action for viability. Unfortunately, even the area of ​​the Mugello earthquake was affected in the night by the snowfalls that then turned into rain. Discomforts, instead, in the province of Bergamo, both to the circulation and to the airport of Orio al Serio with delays of the departing flights to allow the operations of thawing of the wings that have involved a work of about half an hour on each aircraft.
