The "ABOUT US" Life Style Fair will open this evening at the Avigdor event complex in Tel Aviv, and for three days will offer a variety of items from 45 prominent Israeli designers from the fields of home design, fashion, children, jewelry, bags and accessories.
The opening event will be a special fashion show, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Sunflower Project which supports emotionally and socially children orphaned children. The display will feature items from the fashion designers exhibiting at the fair, and will be followed by Gila Algamore, Fall Shapir, Uriel Yekutiel and more.
The fair will last for about three days and will introduce a variety of new collections for winter 2020 from promising young designers and veteran designers, including Shahar Avnet, Onnuku, Michal Mengistu of the AKAL brand and more.
For seven years, fashion and content woman Karin Laufer-Dayne, who owns the brand and fashion store "Karina" in Kfar Azar, has been promoting the fashion and life style fair.
"It's important for me to continue giving the stage to Israeli designers," Laufer-Dayan told "Israel Today." "Israeli designers are not easy in Israel, many do not survive or are in difficulties and few succeed. Such a platform allows them to expand their clientele."
She says a similar fair will soon be opened in Manhattan, where Israeli designers will also fly and present. “They will try to sell the designs and collections they have designed, and this is also an opportunity to break abroad. American Jews like to come to the fairs I hold and come to buy every year and support Israeli design, it gives them a good feeling. "
For a decade now, what do you think about the current decade in terms of Israeli fashion?
"Israeli fashion is evolving. Dawn sash that already dresses Beyonce, a white oak with the unique manuscript, has the Onnoco brand that has been around for almost 15 years and they are very successful with the unique design, it takes pride."
What tip can you give young designers at the beginning?
"Understand that this is not an easy industry but it is important not to dare to raise hands. I believe that there is a constant need to evolve, especially in the age of social networking. With the same model, one must diversify and be alert to what is happening abroad and be constantly on hand with the pulse. "
The fair will open tonight to the public from 9:30 to 24:00. Friday 13/12 from 9am to 4pm, Saturday 14/12 11am to 8pm.
