300 realtors held an emergency conference due to the Justice Department's initiative to eliminate the need for a real estate brokerage license. In recent days, the Ministry, with the encouragement of Justice Minister Amir Ohana, has published the bill stating that the need for a test that exists today to deal with the brokerage profession will be eliminated, which has angered many mediators. Among other things, they participated in a meeting of the Deputy Director of Policy and Strategy Planning at the Justice Ministry, Eldad Canty, President of the Tax Advisors Office, Yaron Gindi, and attorneys Eric Ariel and Ilan Sharqon.

The Association of Realtors, Itzik Levy, who was one of the organizers of the conference, told "Globes" that we were "very surprised at the timing of the publication of the Law Review. After all, there is currently no government, this is a transitional government, and there is no way to promote this proposal in a ministerial and legislative committee. There is a move here that we see as a kind of kidnapping, designed to get this bill under the radar. In the chaos that currently exists the public is not aware of it. Their expectation is that when a few months is established, the government will pass this bill. Beyond that, we are currently undergoing a judicial review and in our estimation, this matter is non-legislative. That is, no law can be repealed or a bill passed in a transitional government ”.

What is behind this bill in your opinion?

"There is a certain official, who is the assistant minister of justice, an economist in his training, who believes wholeheartedly in abolishing regulation and is the one who is pushing this move. It makes no sense to make that move right now. "Realizing that the realtors are very limited. It's not some kind of bureaucratic barrier. It's an attempt to do, to say that here we have been able to abolish regulation as well."

Among the brokers are those who do not oppose canceling the broker license. For example, RE / MAX. How do you explain it?

"The reason Cherry / Max supports this is what she earns from it. Re / Max will be super brokers. They have a realtor training school and they give the title of an international real estate agent. They will only benefit from this story. You have to understand that whoever enforces this discipline is the Consumer Protection Authority. Do you know how many supervisors they have now? 25 supervisors nationwide. They are already under the burden of training. You know what the maximum penalty is for a foul? NIS 7,000. Is that what will deter offenders from stabbing disadvantaged families? Our concern is that offenders will take over this industry, as happened in the bottle recycling industry. "

Re / Max said: "We believe it is everyone's right to express their opinion, but at the same time there is also a duty to respect the other's position. Re / Max does everything possible to explain her position and respect anyone who disagrees with her. Those who disagree with the bureau's opinion are disrespectful, unworthy and do not bring respect. In the end, the reform initiative comes from the Justice Department's professional ranks, which were formulated after two years of in-depth research. We respect the bureau, even if it represents a small minority of industry practitioners. "We will continue to support the state initiative, but we will also continue to respect those who disagree with our position."
