The dossier, now in its eighth edition, is based on data supplied by municipal administrations (1,162 complete questionnaires, around 15% of all Italian municipalities) and healthcare companies (45 complete questionnaires, 39.5% of the total) and highlights " a positive trend "but with a" non-homogeneous picture with respect to total expenditure ". For Antonino Morabito, national manager of animal welfare and animal welfare of Legambiente "even more so if we consider that the Municipalities declare to spend 58% of the budget destined to the sector for the management of shelters, about 102 million euros for the estimated expenditure for 2018". From the report it emerges that the Municipality of Verona is the one that, compared to quality services, records the lowest expenditure (1.43 euros for citizenship); among the municipalities that spend more but with service there is Montalbano Jonico (Mt): 30.34 euros per citizen only to manage dogs in kennels. 66% of the municipalities declare that they have a branch (office or service) dedicated to the rights of animals in the city (95% for the provincial capitals) and 16% of the municipalities (88% for the provincial capitals) to have a canopy. Worst situation for health shelters, in 6% of the Municipalities and in 36% of the chief towns. Only 11% are in contact with a recovery center for wild animals.
