(ANSA) - VENICE, DECEMBER 13 - The exceptional wave of high waters that struck Venice in November caused damage to the Basilica of San Marco for over 3 million euros, to which an additional 841,000 euros were added for the damage caused to the wind in 12 November. The estimate was presented by the San Marco Procuratorate, which recalled that, from the water supply in October 2018, costs of over € 300,000 were already incurred, out of the estimated 2.3 million in damages at the time. "I am not so worried - commented the first prosecutor of San Marco, Carlo Alberto Tesserin - of the additional years of life that the Basilica will be able to lose in the face of episodes like this, which will certainly be repeated, even if we do not know when, rather than the fact that, in front of to a Basilica that has more than 900 years of life, now we find ourselves having to recover the annibuttati after 1966 ".
