There are many good reasons for not eating sugar: less risk of tooth decay, the pants fit better and the body is happy too. But nobody really wants to do without cake, ice cream and chocolate. And the sweets alone are not enough - sugar is also hidden in almost all finished products.
The moderator and author Anastasia Zampounidis also had to find out more when she started to give up sugar 13 years ago: "I didn't know that it was also in pretzel sticks, salami and pickled cucumbers. If I thought I had one I didn't eat sugar for a month, because I left out chocolate and cake, I kept eating. "
And so it took a while for Anastasia's sugar cravings to stop. In the meantime, giving up is no longer a problem for the 50-year-old. She completely changed her diet, which gradually changed her sense of taste. Instead of chocolate, sweet potatoes and carrots now make them feel happy, "says Anastasia:" If I hadn't had that, I swear I could have held it out for a maximum of one year. "
Apples, dates or bananas have become their gummy bears. It allows fructose in its natural form. It just must not be extracted and concentrated - because too much fructose will damage the liver again. And Anastasia does not have to do without Christmas cookies either: "There are also gingerbread cookies without sugar."
How does the changeover succeed without losing the joy of eating? How do parents get their children to eat less candy? And how do you bake sugar-free cinnamon stars?
