Magnitude 6.8 earthquake in the Philippines

In the southern province of Davao del Sur (ANSA)


An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 hit the south of the Philippines today: the American Geophysical Institute (Usgs) reports it on its site. The quake was located 5 km southeast of Magsaysay, in the province of Davao del Sur, at a depth of 28.2 km. For the moment there are no reports of damage or victims.

This first strong shock, according to the Usgs, was followed by another of magnitude 5 which hit an area a few kilometers further south of the Davao del Sur region and was located at a depth of 10.8 km .
