(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, DECEMBER 17 - Italy with 'The traitor' by Marco Bellocchio is out of the race for the Best international film film (new definition of the Oscar for the best filmtrack). The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just communicated the preliminary shortlists of some categories, including that of the best international film. The ten titles still in the running are 'Parasite' from BongJoon-ho (South Korea), 'Pain and glory' from Pedro Almodovar (Spain), 'The Painted Bird' by Vaclav Marhoul (Czech Republic), 'Truth and Justice' by Tanel Toom (Estonia), 'IMiserabili' by Ladj Ly (France), 'Those Who Remained' by Barnabás Tóth (Hungary), 'Honeyland' by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov (Northern Macedonia), 'Corpus Christi' by JanKomasa (Poland), 'The Autumn Girl' by Kantemir Balagov (Russia) and 'Atlantics' by Mati Diop (Senegal). Final nominations for all categories will be announced on January 13 and the 2020 Oscar ceremony will take place on February 9th.
