"Today is a special day and I am proudly excited because we are approaching the expected 2020, which is the year of the fifty years of our history". This was said by the director of Giffoni Opportunity, Claudio Gubitosi, this morning at the high school Torquato Tasso in Salerno during the presentation of the program set up to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the children's film festival, which this year will be staged from 16 to 25 July.
"We are now in the time of Giffoni Opportunity - continued Gubitosi - because this is what we want to continue to do, to offer opportunities. We will do so in 2021 when we will have three hundred young people to work and Giffoni will be the home of the innovative and creative projects that we will be putting in place by here a little ". The approach to the fiftieth birthday will be characterized by the organization of special events both nationally and internationally. The organization is working to set up one of the stages abroad also in Disneyland Paris, in France and will propose some activities in collaboration with the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation, promoted by Pope Francis and active throughout the world. Among the new features is the Creative Weeks format, the weekends of reflection and study that will involve universities, territories, foreign organizations and young people in the province of Salerno ".
Furthermore, with the mayors of the Picentini, adds Gubitosi, "the Family Residence project will be launched, dedicated to hospitality spread throughout the year". The relationship with the world of education will also remain: for the 50 years in Campania a study week dedicated to Giffoni will be launched, while for Italy there will be the Giffoni Day, scheduled for 20 November 2020. The organization of the festival he will also ask UNESCO to count him among the Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The fiftieth anniversary will be celebrated with the creation of "# Giffoni50: the Film", a story that goes from the 70s to the present, while an animated film will be made for the little ones. One of the novelties of this year will be the Fattoria dei nonni, a moment dedicated to the greatest who will be busy during the festival to work alongside the Giffoni team. The 2020 edition - which will focus on the Planet and its preservation - will involve 6,500 young people from over 50 countries and an audience of about 400,000 participants. 150 films and at least 10 previews will be presented.
