Work on the maneuver resumed in the Senate, with replies from the speakers. The first to speak is Rossella Accoto, of the Five Star Movement. The green light is expected in the afternoon, with the vote of confidence.

The maneuver - therefore - is close to collecting Parliament's first green light: the government is ready to ask the Senate for confidence in the maxi-amendment and ensures that the covers "are there". There are few findings that would have come from the State Accounting Department, says the Deputy Minister of Economy Antonio Misiani. However, two measures continue to hang in the balance: the new stakes for the sale of cannabis light and the introduction of the Tobin tax.
Three days after the approval in the Budget Committee at Palazzo Madama of the text the rumors continue to chase each other of a 'hole' which according to the opposition would be about "700 million" and also of consequent delays in the examination.
Accounts that do not correspond to reality according to the majority. And in the evening also the announcement arrives that tries to put a point to the controversy: the maxi-amendment was transmitted to the Senate.
Now the word then passes to the presidency of Palazzo Madama, which must rule on the admissibility of the dozens of norms approved during the parliamentary process.
The M5S, which signed with the senator Matteo Mantero the amendment that rewrites the law on narcotics by retouching the percentages of Thc for which the sale of cannabis is legal, asks "thirdness" from the second position of the State: it would be "serious "if a" cleaver of a political nature "broke down the amendment for cannabis light.
Ready to reply: the presidency of the Senate claims its guarantee role and underlines how its assessments in these cases are never "political" but only "technical". The fact is that the measure ends up being targeted by the opposition: Meloni promises "battle" to cancel what they consider "madness"; Salvini speaks of "peddling" while FI argues that it should be removed because it is a foreign matter to the budget law. The rules to be examined are however numerous: according to a draft of the maxi-amendment, placed one after the other, the paragraphs of the maneuver are almost a thousand.
And the spectrum of the interventions is really wide: they range from tens of micronorme, that concern local realities, to plastic and sugar tax passing through the tax on fortune; from the adjustments to the excise taxes on fuels to the measures linked to the collection of local authorities.
Whatever decision the senators make at the end, the Chamber will only have to validate the choices of the other branch of the Parliament: now times are too tight to reopen the dossier without wanting to jeopardize the public accounts with the provisional exercise. A choice that has cost a long mediation within the political forces and that promises to be the subject of new controversy with the minorities. The League has already announced its intention to resort to the Consulta, as it did last year: the road taken by the majority and the government - it is the accusation - has totally deprived a Chamber of its own powers.
