The assignment of the Winter Games of 2026 "was one of the most beautiful pages written by the Country system and one of the most intense moments I experienced as President of the Council". Thus said the Premier Giuseppe Conte speaking at the ceremony for the presentation of the Collari d'oro at the Coni.

"If I confirm that I am ready to pull the plug on the government? Of course, I am here to work and give a better perspective to the country, not to pull the plug", adds Conte.

"A few days ago I sent a hypothesis of Olympic law to the municipalities and regions involved: if I receive their comments in good time, I expect to keep the commitments made and bring the bill to the last Council of Ministers this year. Otherwise we will postpone to the first CD of January at the latest ". Sport Minister Vincenzo Spadafora declared this when he spoke of the Olympic law for Milan-Cortina 2026 on the sidelines of the award ceremony for the Collari d'Oro, in Rome.

"There is an important market research institute that has investigated cross-sectional samples, men, women, social, sports and non-sporting areas, territorial areas involved, and it turned out that the victory of the Milan-Cortina Olympics 2026, in the last ten years, is considered by more than 6% of Italians the most beautiful thing in the country. I think this is a great satisfaction ". This was underlined by the president of CONI, Giovanni Malagò, on the sidelines of the delivery of the Golden Collars for sports merit 2019 which was staged in Rome.

"Coni has made clear a need that seems to me to be sacrosanct, that of having the extraordinary resources to be able to face the Olympics in the best way. I wrote yesterday to the President of Sport and Health to arrange all the resources that absolutely and unequivocally they will be used by Coni to allow Italy to play a major Olympic Games, but an analysis of the budgets will certainly be made, but it is right that the requests made by CONI, as well as by Cip, can be satisfied ". Sport Minister Vincenzo Spadafora said this on the sidelines of the Collari d'Oro award ceremony in Rome.
