(ANSA) - NAPLES, DECEMBER 16 - The Naples Court of Assizes of Appeal, accepting the request of the deputy public prosecutor Carmine Esposito, sentenced Francesco Cirillo to 30 years, accused of having taken part in the murder of Domenico Noviello, the entrepreneur killed by 'stragista wing of the Catalan clan headed by the boss Giuseppe Setola on May 16, 2008, in Castel Volturno (Caserta), for having reported extortion attempts.
Cirillo's lawyers, immediately after the verdict, announced the appeal to the Court of Cassation.
Francesco Cirillo was sentenced to 30 years in the first degree and then acquitted in the second degree. The Attorney General appealed to the Cassation which referred everything to another section of the Court of Assizes of Appeal which today confirmed the 30 years inflicted in the first instance.
