NEW YORK - After more than four years of work the renewal of the Empire State Building is officially completed. The last piece is the exhibition space on the 80th floor which will open its doors to the public from 27 November. This is an area of over 1200 square meters with six exhibitions that will allow the visitor to contextualize the building in the city and also to recreate personal experiences. These include a partnership with NYC & Company, the agency that deals with the tourism promotion of the Big Apple, which with the 'NYC: Above and Beyond' experience through a series of interactive panels in different languages will allow for the creation of a travel itinerary customized through all five city municipalities.
On the 80th floor you will also have the first taste of what is the spectacular view of the city before moving on to the observatory on the 86th floor, both outdoors and indoors, ending with the breathtaking view from the 102nd floor. Among other experiences, 'Scenes of New York', with telescopes aimed at nine points in New York that show a close-up image of how the Statue of Liberty appears, the Grand Central station with its daily frenzy, Coney Island in Brooklyn, the Wall Street Exchange. Yet another exhibition explains how the music and light show is recreated which three times a year reveals a completely unusual Empire with lighting that synchronizes with musical notes. The first light and music show was held in 2012 on the music of Alicia Keys.
"Now the Empire State Building is totally re-imagined from the entrance to the 102nd floor - Squint / Opera, the study that took care of the digital aspect of the Empire renewal project - said to ANSA." is a museum that tells the story of the building, celebrates King Kong, transports the visitor through a digital 80th floor experience and finally captivates with views of the 86th and 102th floor shows ".
The Empire renewal project cost $ 165 million. The first to be interested was the entrance that since 2018 has only moved to 34th street, streamlining the queues.
The last one to be reopened before the 80th floor was the 102nd floor observatory. The doors were opened last October 12, revealing an unobstructed view of the city beyond the spectacular. It is a real peak on the Big Apple with a part composed of 24 windows that show the whole panorama. Until last January the lower part was in masonry, thus limiting the view. The second floor shows how the building was constructed. The Empire is considered among the seven wonders in the world by the American society of civil engineers and since 1986 it is a national monument. (HANDLE)
