(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 16 - His name is Vito. It's a cat; nicknamed the bionic cat. In fact, Vito has two prostheses on his hind legs that resemble those of the Pistorius athlete. To tell the story that took place in Milan of this cat - which belongs to Silvia Gottardi, a former basketball player, and his wife Linda - is Claudia Rocchini, a nature photographer specializing in feline portraits.
Vito is a cat used to being outdoors; so he enters and exits thanks to the slots arranged by his mistresses. But left for a few days with a friend of theirs, he disappears, and is found after a day and a half of research with both legs crushed. The veterinarian has not given up, and - continues Rocchini - has proposed "an experimental intervention never performed before in Italy: the insertion of two prostheses, initially temporary, to verify the reactions and allow Vito to do his needs alone" .
Now Vito "walks without problems, the temporary prostheses hold up and so it was decided, for now, not to subject him to other interventions for the titanium definitive prostheses. He does not jump but the veterinarian is considering to design prostheses with small springs to allow him to make lever, imitating true legs ". The bionic cat also has its own facebook page, 'vituzzo superstar', and is also found on Instagram, '@vituzzosuperstar'. (HANDLE).
