Former GDR State Council Chairman Egon Krenz came to a hospital in Rostock for observation after a car accident. According to research by SPIEGEL TV, the 82-year-old was involved in a serious accident on Sunday through no fault of his own.
Krenz's lawyer Peter-Michael Diestel confirmed the incident. The former politician is doing well. According to the dpa news agency, the accident had already occurred on Sunday evening when Krenz was on his way home from Berlin to the seaside resort of Dierhagen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Just a few meters from where he lived, Krenz drove another car into the left side of the vehicle. Total damage is said to have occurred on the car from Krenz.
