A process on which he had focused, when he was still Undersecretary of Culture, Lucia Borgonzoni, today a League candidate in the regional elections of January 26th. "Pasta cannot be a candidate" on the list of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO-humanity, he observed repeating to reporters who asked him for a comment but "what can be is the tradition of the sfogline, which is ancient, is handed down from generation to generation and carries out a precise cultural function for a part of this society ".

Therefore, argued Petrillo, "it is a candidacy consistent with the acknowledgments that Unesco gives, the important thing is that the identity dimension is highlighted: not the finished product, which is completely irrelevant, but the role played by the sheets in the tradition".
