(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 18 - In an open letter, 134 Nobel prizes invited the Iranian Supreme Guide, Ali Kamenei, to assert that Ahmadreza Djalali, an expert in dehiscasive medicine and humanitarian assistance and a former researcher at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara, sentenced to death in Iran on charges of "espionage", "he can return home to his wife and children and continue his academic work for the benefit of humanity". This was announced by Amnesty International, adding that over 160,000 people have already signed the appeal on the amnesty.it website. Djalali - reminds the organization for the protection of human rights - was working at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm before being arrested, in April 2016, by the secret services while he was in Iran to participate in a series of seminars at the universities of Teheran and Shiraz. The Iranian authorities have made strong pressures on Djalali to sign a declaration in which he "confessed" to being a spy on behalf of a "Government of the style".
