A maxi operation of the Carabinieri del Ros and the Provincial Command of Vibo Valentia is underway for the execution of a precautionary detention order for the investigating judge of Catanzaro at the request of the DDA for 334 people.
The 'Rinascita-Scott' operation has disrupted all the 'ndrangheta organizations operating in the Vibonese area and belonging to the Mancuso di Limbadi clan. Altogether 416 suspects are accused in various ways of mafia association, murder, extortion, usury, fictitious heading of assets, money laundering and other crimes aggravated by the mafia.
At the same time as the precautionary custody order, the carabinieri are also notifying a seizure order for a value of about 15 million euros. The impressive operation, the result of investigations that lasted for years, in addition to Calabria affects various regions of Italy where the 'ndrangheta vibonese has branched: Lombardi, Piedmont, Veneto, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Sicily, Puglia, Campania and Basilicata. Some suspects have been located and arrested in Germany, Switzerland and Bulgaria in collaboration with local police forces and in execution of a European arrest warrant issued by the judicial authority of Catanzaro. The operation involves 2,500 carabinieri from the Ros and the provincial commander who are working on the national territory in these hours, also supported by units of the GIS, the Paratroopers Regiment, the Heliport Squadron, mobile departments, aerial vehicles and canine units.
