(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 20 - The perturbation of Atlantic origin that is affecting the north-west of Italy will make its effects felt in the next few hours, bringing rain and strong winds over the rest of the country and in particular on the southern Tyrrhenicic areas. On the basis of the available forecasts, the Civil Protection Department has issued a new weather alert which extends the diffusion yesterday: starting from today's evening there are widespread precipitations, locally very intense rains accompanied by lightning and strong gusts of wind on Umbria and Lazio, and in extension by early hours of tomorrow, in Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Basilicata and Calabria. Furthermore, storm winds are expected with gusts up to storm over Campania, Basilicata and Puglia. The Department has also assessed for tomorrow an orange alert for hydro-geological risk on Campania and on the sectors of Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Liguria, Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Molise, Basilicata and Sardinia.
