"Signing for Ferrari? It seems like a good idea, but I'd rather do something else: go to Mars with Lewis Hamilton and see if there's something to win there too." Interviewed by the German newspaper 'Kronen', the executive director of Mercedes AMG F1 Toto Wolff thus answers a question about his future and whether one of the hypotheses that he contemplates is that of a 'landing' in Maranello. The newspaper then recalls how Hamilton put Wolff's stay at Mercedes as a primary condition to sign the renewal with the 'silver arrows' team that will expire next year.
"Seriously speaking - says Wolff again - what I want is to be successful in 2020, then we'll see what happens. But if we give Lewis a car above the others again, then he'll take care of it". The goal, needless to hide it, is to match the record of Michael Schumacher, the only driver to have won seven world titles so far.
The 'boss' of the Mercedes of F1 reveals then that his greatest desire for the new year is not of sport type but that "everyone is in health: this year we have lost Niki (Lauda ndr) and one of our engineers, one of the youngest, he died in a car accident the day after we celebrated the World Cup, so the important thing is to be healthy, to the rest there is a remedy ". Even if Wolff has a problem: "three weeks of vacation are not enough to get rid of all the stress that accumulates during the season, even my doctor told me."
