The extraordinary commissioners of the former Ilva and Arcelor Mittal have reached the basic agreement for the negotiation of the restructuring of the original contract for the rental and sale of the plants and for the financial operation of re-launching the Taranto steel-based center.
ArcelorMittal managing director Lucia Morselli and the three commissioners of former Ilva Francesco Ardito, Alessandro Danovi and Antonio Lupo signed the memorandum of understanding that lays the foundations for the negotiation, which will take place until January 31, to find an agreement binding on the re-launch of the Taranto steel-based center.
The Minister of Economic Development Stefano Patuanelli has authorized the extraordinary commissioners to sign the Heads of Agreement with ArcelorMittal. This is what is learned from Mise sources which specify that the foundations for a more complete agreement by January have thus been "set".
The new ArcelorMittal business plan "provides for investments in green technology to be implemented also through a new company financed by public and private investors". The same Franco-Indian group communicates this with a note, which today has signed a pre-agreement with the former Ilva commissioners.
