Unexpected Christmas present to all "Belieber": Pop superstar Justin Bieber announced a new album for 2020 on Christmas Eve. His last album "Purpose" was released in November 2015.
The 25-year-old has now published a video in which he has promised the new single "Yummy" for January 3 under the hashtag "# Bieber2020" in addition to the album - as well as a tour of North America from May and a documentary about himself.
Bieber also talks about the "mistakes" of his past and what he went through in the video: "I think this album is different from the previous ones." He liked the music on the new record, whose release date and name were initially unknown, better than anything he had ever done before.
Bieber, who is married to the US model Hailey Baldwin, had recently spoken repeatedly about his problems with early fame as a child and announced that he wanted to take more care of his health and family. "I'm now very focused on solving some deep-seated problems that I have like most of us so I don't fall apart," he wrote on Instagram in the spring. In addition, he had hardly given any concerts in the past years.
Musically, Bieber's output was limited to collaborations with other superstars. In 2019 he published a song with Ed Sheeran ("I don't care") and the country pop duo Dan + Shay ("10,000 Hours"). He also worked on a remix of the song "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish.
