(ANSA) - FLORENCE, DECEMBER 28 - A 3-year-old boy from Versilia is admitted to the Meyer hospital in Florence for a suspected case of type B meningitis. The prognosis is confidential and conditions are stable.
According to what has been reconstructed, the child was taken by parents to the 'Versilia Hospital' following illness. Then, after initial evaluations by the doctors, he was transferred to the pediatric hospital in Florence. In the Viareggio area, where the child lives with the family, prophylaxis was triggered both for family members and, also, for about 70-75 kindergarten children from whom he attended, plus the parents, the school staff and the health staff who came into contact with the child for the first tests before moving to Florence.
