(ANSA) - CAGLIARI - The Salvacoste law and the stop to cement in the range of 300 meters from the sea must remain a firm point in safeguarding the coastal environment of Sardinia. These are the topics contained in an online petition with which the environmental association, Legal Intervention Group (GRIG), asks the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities, Dario Franceschini, "to be attentive to the maintenance of the coastal protection discipline present in the regional landscape plan (ppr), implementing the Code of cultural heritage and landscape ".

The petition also refers to "recent regional bills which aim at a real emptying of the coast defense regulations, with particular reference to the coastal strip 300 meters from the sea shoreline". In particular, "the effectiveness of the safeguard is endangered by repeated legislative provisions that allow increases in volumes with the alibi of support for families (" house plan ").

The petition therefore requests "the maintenance of the absolute ineductability of the Sardinian coastal strip with particular reference to the strip of 300 meters from the sea shoreline, as foreseen in the current coastal safeguard legislation and in the regional landscape plan".

According to the association, in fact, "the need for strong and effective protection rules for the defense of the coasts from real estate transformation and, in particular, from building speculation" is widely shared in public opinion "
