ROME - From the American Egg Nog to the French Lait de poule, the tradition of hot milk-based drinks with which to celebrate and accompany the New Year's Eve dinner returns in many countries. The trend, appreciated in Italy and also practiced in other states, such as Great Britain and Russia, is remembered by the Italian Dairy Association (Assolatte).
The drinks, with a warm temperature, dense intensity, aromatic and alcoholic, are born from traditional recipes. Prepared strictly home made, they reflect the typical features of each country and are considered - explains the association - evergreen of the Christmas banquets and associated with friendship, conviviality and best wishes.
Among the proposals are also reported White Russian, Chocki ladibird and the non-alcoholic Delizia al caffè for a total of five recipes suggested by Assolatte. For the American Egg Nog the preparation involves the assembly of eggs, sugar, milk with the addition of ground coffee, dark rum and grated nutmeg.
For Lait de poule the use of milk with cinnamon sticks, yolks, brown sugar in crystals and honey. White Russian instead requires the ice cube shaker, Tia Maria, vodka and fresh milk.
Finally, for the Chocki ladibird you need to shake cocoa milk, cocoa and ice cubes. Use brown sugar, sweetened coffee, lightly whipped cream and a few coffee beans to decorate. Coffee delight requires milk, crushed ice, ground coffee, pineapple juice and lemon juice. It should be decorated with chocolate chips.
