The baby's parents noted that on Sunday the baby suffered a mild fever and the next day did not get up from noon and passed away at the family home in Jerusalem. As mentioned, the baby was rushed to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, with no breath of life and the hospital staff had to determine his death.
At first they thought it was a death in the crib and were not believed to be the flu, but tests by the hospital's staff revealed that the baby had died in his home from a complication of flu. Hadassah added that the baby and his family were not vaccinated. The information that the baby apparently died of a flu complication was reported to parents and the Ministry of Health.
Remember, a 41-year-old man died Wednesday at Sheba Hospital as a result of flu complications. The deceased witnessed his current hospitalization without any background illness. The man had heart failure, and was connected to an "ACMO" device designed to replace and simulate heart and lung activity. So far, 18 people have died since the beginning of the season due to complications of the disease.
