(ANSA) - MILAN, JANUARY 3 - The temporary anti-smog measures of the highest level in the provinces of Milan, Monza, Cremona, Pavia, Bergamo and Como and municipalities with more than 30,000 inhabitants, in addition to those on a voluntary basis. The use of fireworks on January 1, combined with particularly favorable weather conditions for the accumulation of pollutants, led in fact to a worsening of the concentrations of the PM10, which in some areas started from values close to the limit.
Temporary measures concern traffic (limitations for vehicles up to € 4 diesel in urban areas, compulsory shutdown of parked engines), domestic heating (limitation to the use of wood biomass generators of inferior class at 3 stars, 1 degree reduction of temperatures in homes) and agriculture (ban on spreading livestock, absolute ban on outdoor combustion).
