The director and actress Elizabeth Banks is enthusiastic about Hamburg. "I loved it there," said Banks in an interview after she made the film "Three Angels for Charlie" in Hamburg, in which she also starred.
The 45-year-old American was particularly impressed by the Elbphilharmonie. "I wrote it on my wish list two years ago when we were looking for locations in Europe for the film," enthused Banks.

Elbphilharmonie in the center of Hamburg: "We came because of the building"
"The building has waves on the roof and is so advanced in design. We're really lucky that we were able to bring it to life in the film."
In the film, which has just started in German cinemas, the Elbphilharmonie is not a concert hall, but the headquarters of an international technology group that develops a dangerous weapon.
More about the film
The three angels - in the new edition of the cult series they are played by Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinska and Naomi Scott - are on the trail of the villains in the film. In Hamburg they then get into an action-packed chase (read a detailed film review here).
Banks and her crew apparently felt in good hands in Hamburg. "We came because of the building," she said, "and then stayed because there are so many other exciting things that can be shot in Hamburg." For example, "Drei Engel für Charlie" was filmed on the Inner Alster, in the Speicherstadt and HafenCity.
