American rapper Lexii Alijai dies at 21

The artist had made himself known in 2015 and had collaborated in particular with the Canadian Drake. She died on New Years Day.


Her last message on Twitter was addressed to David Ali, the manager of an artist with whom she had gained notoriety, Kehlani. A simple "happy birthday" sent on December 31. A few hours later, on January 1, the American rapper Lexii Alijai died at the age of 21, in circumstances still unknown.

The news first spread through Raeisah Clark, another singer who introduced herself as her cousin. On Facebook, she posted a photo of Lexii Alijai and praised a "real legend" that "will never be forgotten". Variety magazine was then able to have confirmation of his death from the label of the rapper.

The tribute of many artists

Her real name Alexis Alijai Lynch, she was from Minnesota and had started in 2014. Her collaboration with Kehlani, in 2015, on the title "Jealous", which appeared on an album named to the Grammys, had made him known public. She had also worked with Drake on the song "Girls Love Beyonce".

Many artists have paid tribute to him on Twitter. Kehlani said she was "angry" and "broken hearted", and posted several photos of her friend.
