LONDON (AP) - “Joker” (“Joker”) on Tuesday topped the list of nominees for the BAFTA Awards of British cinema with 11 mentions that include best film, best actor ( Joaquin Phoenix ) and best director ( Todd Phillips ).

The mafia epic of "The Irishman" ("The Irish") by Martin Scorsese and "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood" ("Once Upon a Time in Hollywood") by Quentin Tarantino followed closely with 10 applications each one, including the best movie. Margot Robbie received two nominations for best supporting actress, for "Bombshell" and "Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood." And Johansson is also listed in this section by "Jojo Rabbit." Both compete with Laura Dern , for "Marriage Story"; and Florence Pugh, for "Little Women."

The best supporting actor candidates are Tom Hanks for “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”, Anthony Hopkins for “The Two Popes,” Al Pacino and Joe Pesci for “The Irishman,” and Brad Pitt for "Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood."

The winners will be announced on February 2 at a gala in London that will feature actor and comedian Graham Norton as host.
