(ANSA) - TEHERAN, JAN 11 - Iran admits to having shot down the Ukrainian airliner, for human error.
Iranian Armed Forces Headquarters claims that the Boeing crashed four days ago shortly after taking off from Tehran's 'Imam Khomeini' airport was "mistakenly" and "inadvertently" targeted by the Iranian air defense forces who mistaken it for a " enemy plane. "
All 176 passengers and crew members of 737 of Ukraine International Airlines died as a result of the accident. Until yesterday Iran had denied having shot down the aircraft with a missile.
