Half a thousand people gathered to pay tribute to Cédric Chouviat. Beyond emotion and meditation, several people raised their voices to denounce police violence. While the Paris Prosecutor's Office has opened a judicial investigation for "involuntary manslaughter", the family is claiming a reclassification of the facts as "willful violence resulting in death".

The family of Cédric Chouviat will be received on January 14 by Christophe Castaner, Minister of the Interior.
