The 4.5 million tourists who arrived in Israel last year, as well as many Israelis who were killed in Israel in 2019, booked their overnight stays in ... Acre. Yes, Northern Acre is the most inviting and warmest city in Israel according to Booking.com's ranking. This is what the huge vacation booking giant announced today for the 2020 Traveler Review Award winners.

This is the eighth year in which Booking.com awards these awards, designed to thank the company's partners who have received acclaimed reviews after giving their guests quality experiences following booking a rental, car rental or taxi from the airport.

Acre, therefore, is the most inviting and warmest city in Israel, according to the ranking. Following are among the most inviting places in Israel can be found in descending order of Arad, Mitzpe Ramon, Had Nes, Eilat, Haifa, Caesarea, Nahariya, Safed, Herzliya, Jerusalem, Tiberias, Ashkelon, Netanya, Ashdod, Bat Yam and Tel Aviv.

Older in apartments, less in hotels

Among the selections of accommodations in Israel that received a 2020 Award include the Zimmer Willow in the Cliffs, the Renoma Apartments Hotel in Tel Aviv, the Desert Rose in Ben Gurion's Midrash, the Templar House in Jerusalem, the Desert Desert in Arad, the apartment on the Banias beach in Sde Nehemia and more.

Apartment rentals continue to meet and even exceed guests' expectations, with the impressive growth in the number of apartment winners continuing this year as well, and this type of accommodation has once again reached the top of the list. Almost 40% of the winning places in 2020 are apartments. In addition, this is the third year in a row that four of the top five types of accommodation are alternative accommodation: apartments (380,936), hotels (179,869), guest houses (94,162), resorts (82,241) and B & Bs (75,875).

While the hotels again rank second in the list of most award-winning accommodations, 75% of the winning accommodations are homes, apartments and other unique accommodations, including boats, igloos and country houses. A recent Booking.com study that surveyed more than 22,000 travelers aligns with this data after revealing that nearly 39% of travelers worldwide prefer to stay in a vacation home or apartment rather than a hotel.

The top five types of hospitality in Israel, among the winners in descending order, are apartments with 1,499 winners, hotels with 331 winners, hostels with 313 winners, guest houses with 148 rights and houses with 113 winners' representation.
