Youth Olympics: first blue medal in skiing

First medal in alpine skiing, and fifth of the Italian expedition, at the Winter Youth Olympic Games taking place in Lausanne. In the snow of Les Diablerets, Edoardo Saracco conquered bronze in the special slalom behind the Swedish gold medalist Adam Hofstedt and the Swiss Luc Roduit. Sixth place for Marco Abbruzzese and sixteenth for Gian Maria Illariuzzi.
For Saracco, skiing is a family matter: his sister Carlotta competed in Lillehammer 2016, the previous edition of the youth Olympics, and is the son of Roberto, the technician in charge of the blue gigantists.
