(ANSA) - TURIN, JANUARY 17 - Armed surveillance, from early February, in the emergency room of the ASL City of Turin. The ASL Commissioner, Carlo Picco, said this following "the worrying increase in attacks on health workers and users". There were 87 cases in 2019, 30% more than the year before, already three only this year. "In addition to surveillance - Picco announces - we are enhancing video surveillance services".
The armed security service concerns, in particular, the first aid of the Maria Vittoria, Martini, Oftalmico and San Giovanni Bosco hospitals. It will be active 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"From February 1, all health personnel working in the emergency room will work in protected conditions and will be able to manage emergencies safely, expressing the utmost professionalism, with positive effects also on assistance and care", explains Dr. Picco.
