"I will sing for you with all my heart", wrote the star who is currently on international tour for her album "Courage".

"Maman Dion" died Friday at the age of 92. This is how Thérèse Tanguay Dion, Céline Dion's mother, was affectionately known in Quebec.

In July, his eldest daughter, "Claudette Dion had announced that her aging mother had developed memory problems, as well as hearing and visual acuity problems," according to the Journal de Montréal. "Mom Dion died peacefully at home, that night, surrounded by her family," said Friday the Quebec company Productions Feeling, which manages the career of the singer.

Wife of Adhémar Dion who died in 2003, Thérèse Tanguay Dion is the mother of 14 children, the youngest of which, Céline, has sold nearly 250 million albums. She had launched the career of the pre-adolescent girl then aged 12, by sending a cassette with "It was only a dream", a song she had written herself, to the manager René Angelil.

"You wrote my destiny"

It was in January 1981 that the recording fell into his hands. The producer, who was to become her husband, was impressed by the young singer's voice. Céline Dion had confided four years after the death of her husband.

Thérèse Dion hosted a cooking program on TV for several years, while marketing her cooked meals under the brand “Les pâtés de Maman Dion”. She also created the “Fondation Maman Dion” which helps Quebec school children aged 5 to 16 from disadvantaged backgrounds.

"Mom, we love you so much ... We dedicate the show to you tonight and I will sing for you with all my heart," tweeted the 51-year-old singer, posting a photo of the family together. She is currently on international tour for her album "Courage", the first in ten years. Friday night she was in Miami, Florida.
