(ANSA-AFP) - LAUSANNE, JANUARY 17 - Greta Thunberg joined several thousand demonstrators on the streets of the Swiss city of Lausanne a few days before the start of the Davos summit which, from January 21 to 24, will see the world elite reunited for the annual gathering of political leaders, business leaders, academics and civil society representatives.
"So far, during this decade, we have not seen any signs that real climate action is on the way," said the seventeen-year-old Swedish eco-warrior who was welcomed as a rock star by a crowd composed mostly of teenagers.
"This has to change," Greta said to the world leaders: "This is just the beginning. You haven't seen anything yet.
We assure you! ".
Thunberg next week, right from the Davos summit, will launch an appeal to governments and financial institutions to stop investing in fossil fuels.
