The new super antibiotics have been tested: they reduce the mortality caused by resistant infections from 50-55% to 10-15%, a decrease of one third which would be equivalent to avoiding around 3,000 deaths a year in Italy caused by super bacteria. This is shown by recent international phase three clinical studies presented at the conference on antibiotic resistance organized in Genoa by the Menarini International Foundation.
