(ANSA) - MONTREAL (CANADA), JAN 18 - Therese Dion, mother of the singer Celine, died at 92 years old.
"Mommy, we love you so much ... We dedicate the show to the evening and I will sing for you with all my heart," tweeted Canadian lastar before a concert last night in Miami. Celine also published an old black and white family photo showing 'Maman Dion' - that's how Teresa was nicknamed - alongside her husband and their 14 children.
Therese launched her youngest daughter's career when she was 12 years old in 1981 sending a tape to producer René Angelil, who would later become Celine's husband.
Thérèse has been conducting an intv cooking program for several years, marketing her dishes under the brand name 'Les pâtés deMaman Dion'. He also created the 'Fondation Maman Dion', which aims in particular to support the schooling of young people from Quebec from 5 to 16 years of age from disadvantaged backgrounds.
