(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, JAN 20 - "Since the UN is involved, it is not correct that the EU intervenes as coordinator of the peace process" in Libya. This was stated by Turkish President Recep TayyipErdogan, commenting on the outcome of the Berlin conference with journalists in tow on the return flight from Germany.
The Turkish president also said that if the ceasefire that Ankara asked with Putin will be respected, "a political process will also open" in Libya.
"Turkey's presence in Libya has increased peace hopes. The steps we have taken have brought a balance to the process. We will continue to support a political process both on the ground and at the negotiating table. Turkey is the key to peace," added the leader of Ankara.
