Four of the preparatory staff in question prepared a kidney altruistically • Two other staff members in the midst of the procedure • Rabbi Ido Rosenthal: "All it takes is a little courage"

  • The four donors. "There is no reason why others have zero kidney and we two"

"Infectious bacterium," according to preparatory staff, states that no fewer than four educators have made an altruistic donation of kidney in recent years, and two more are currently in the process of donating.

In recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of kidney donors, but the addition of four educators in the preparation of my husband's cousins, plus at least two who are in the process, is a rare thing. The four are Yishai Tzur, a rabbi educator in my husband's machina, Ido Rosenthal of Yeshiv Oz and Faith, an extension of the machiner in the Neve Sha'anan neighborhood of Tel Aviv, Yair Shimel, the vice president of the machina, and Liran Groves, an educator in the machina.

"It's a contagious disease," says Yair Schimmel, the "youngest" of the group, whose contribution was made only about 10 months ago. Rosenthal added that "Once you hear about your kidney friends, the thought of 'why they are and I don't' does not leave you. I have two kidneys, I am healthy, there is no real reason I can think of why others have zero kidneys and I have two ".

Rosenthal, who donated a kidney three years ago, says that "at the first moment my wife was surprised, but quickly got involved." His kidney was donated to a woman, a mother of two. He says the connection between them is maintained.

Yishai Tzur, 46, lives with my husband and teaches in preparations for the third year. He is a father of seven, and his kidney donation made about five years ago. "I was exposed to the issue of kidney donation by chance," he says, "in a Saturday newsletter published by Life Giving. I surfed the internet, it was clear to me that it would happen and it was only a matter of time." Tire's kidney was given a 12-year-old.

Yair Shimel, 39, is the manager who prepares my husband and is the father of seven children. His donation was made about 10 months ago. His kidney came to a 22-year-old who had to make a second donation. Schimmel says that the preparation phase for the donation varies from person to person. The shortest preparation time, he says, is three months. He added that after passing the tests and adjustments, the recovery process takes about a month. "I ran 24 miles yesterday and everything is fine," he says.

The fourth contributor is Liran Groben over me, 34, married with four children. Liran is a teacher in preparatory, and he made his contribution about four and a half years ago. He received his kidney from a boy from Dimona who was 18 at the time. Groben says that "we did a Chanukah meeting, lit candles together and did a tour of my husband." Ido concluded by saying that "the numbers speak for themselves, there are between 5,000 and 6,000 dialysis patients in the country and thousands of healthy people." He said, "All it takes is a little courage to give a sick person a new life."
