You get on the plane, and the flight attendants and flight attendants stand there, greet you and sometimes help with your luggage. But make no mistake: they have one much more important purpose: to test you.
And so, while they smile at you at the door of the plane, they also pay close attention to who actually gets on the flight: your appearance, how you walk, and more. Everything is well documented in memory.
"Travelers think we are only congratulating them," Jay Robert explains to the HuffPost website. "But they will be surprised if they know how much we reduce risks at this stage of the pre-flight, risks that can cause delays and even harm the safety of passengers."
Air crews pay attention to where you sit, if you have trouble swinging the cargo to the upper storage compartments and more. And so, they will register with the memory that if someone seems to have above average physical capabilities, they can use it in an emergency, explains a former flight attendant, who worked at five different airlines.

The traveler who does not make eye contact
"I try to find passengers who look strong, those who can help in cases of security problems during flight, as well as when helping to clear the plane in an emergency. Typically, this is a passenger flying alone, wearing everyday clothes, with a sturdy body structure."
27-year-old flight attendant Janis Bridger also explains that "If I notice someone or someone with a sturdy, muscular appearance, I will remember the appearance of their faces and their seat position. For me, this passenger or passenger can be a lifeline."
In addition, air crews can recognize when you start getting drunk, how much you like (or not) the passengers with you and whether you avoid eye contact. "I notice who makes eye contact with me, and more - who doesn't. Those who do not make me pay more attention to them: Do they have a fear of flying? Do they feel good? Do they deal with personal problems? Usually numbers, but my job is to make sure everyone feels comfortable on the flight, "adds Southwest Airlines spokesman Septney Mickle.
Sometimes the air crew will also pay attention to what you read. "If you read a medical journal, I'll know if you need help first."
