(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 21 - In 2019 agricultural production decreased by 1.3% in volume. In negative wine production, it decreased by 12.0% after the 2018 exploit, when it had increased by 14.3%. This was noted by the preliminary estimate of the trend in the agricultural sector for the past year presented by Istat. The decline was mainly determined by unfavorable climatic factors. Alcontrario, 2019 was favorable for oil production, which grew by 32.0% after the collapse recorded in 2018 (-36.9%).
According to Istat's preliminary estimate of the trend of the agricultural sector, 2019 also shows significant decreases in fruit (-3%) and cereals (-2.6%) while the trend of secondary activities (+ 1.3%) and service activities (+ 0.4%). Positive dynamics, as in 2018, also for fodder crops (+ 3.5%), potatoes (+ 2.0%) and vegetables (+ 1.1%). The positive trend of secondary activities (+ 1.3%) and services activities (+ 0.4%) was confirmed.
