We haven't seen him on TMC since the end of November, and we won't see him again. Baptiste des Monstiers, one of the columnists for "Quotidien", every evening at 7:25 pm on TMC, wants to "move on to something else". He officially leaves the program of Yann Barthès, two years after his arrival, as he announced on his Twitter account.
"The intense rhythm of a daily broadcast was no longer compatible with my personal goals and my family life" confides the 38-year-old reporter, after 24 months of subjects abroad. Iraq, United States, Brazil, Hong-Kong, Amazonia… Viewers of the most watched talk show on TV saw him investigate around the world, until he was arrested and detained for more than two days in Venezuela , with journalist Pierre Caillé, in January 2019.
The reporter had told of his arrest in Venezuela
"I had to breathe and refocus on my family" says the one who specifies working on other professional projects.
He had replaced Hugo Clément
Baptiste des Monstiers had joined the team of Yann Barthès columnists in January 2018, replacing Hugo Clément, after having started on BFMTV, France 2 ("Complément d'études", "Envoyé Spécial") or M 6 ("Prohibited area", "Capital"). On Twitter, he thanked Yann Barthès for "his confidence".
Indeed after 2 great years spent in the team of @Qofficiel I made the choice to leave for new adventures. Thank you for your messages thank you to the whole team and of course thank you to Yann for his trust. See you very soon 😘https: //t.co/d2BflNLs59
