Will we soon be able to fly to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan? According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, talks have recently been held about direct line operation between Israel and Kazakhstan between Kazakhstan and Israel Ambassador Stibaldi Borshkov and the Civil Aviation Authority (RTA) Joel Palsadhu, and representatives of Israeli airlines.

According to a news release on the website of Trend News Agency in Azerbaijan, which reviews the Caucasus and the region, Borshkov said at a meeting of 11 cities in his country where open sky policy is in place, which could lead to a direct line between the states. The Ambassador also spoke at the meeting about economic, tourism and Kazakhstan potential as a stopping point for interconnection flights, as well as the potential for trade and mutual cooperation between countries.

Starting in 2017, Israelis are enjoying entry into Kazakhstan without the need for a visa, which has significantly increased the number of tourists from Israel to the country. The Kazakhs are currently discussing with the Israeli authorities with a view to reaching mutual understandings, which are exacerbating the need for visas for citizens of both countries.

The publication also states that both parties agreed that the above factors create good conditions for opening a direct line between Kazakhstan and Israel, which would be good for tourists from both countries, the business community, as well as the mutual exchange of cultural, human and business ties.
