(ANSA) - LONDON, JANUARY 22 - The British Parliament has closed the process for the ratification of the law implementing the agreement on leaving the EU, definitively opening the way to Brexital on January 31st. In fact, the House of Lords renounced in the evening to re-propose its 5 amendments to the text, unwelcome to the Johnson government, which the Elective House of Commons had previously canceled. Now for the law to enter into force, only the due deed of the queen's signature (RoyalAssent) is missing. Then the expected ratification of the European Parliament is expected.
The queen's signature is expected tomorrow and will mark the end of a debate that lasted about three years, between heated divisions and within the Westminstersia palace within the country. A debate crossed by confrontations, by the change of governments, by the handover of deliveries in the Tory house between the premiership of Theresa May and Boris Johnson's and by two anticipated political elections in 2017 and last December, after the victory in the 2016 referendum.
