From Federico Fellini, to remember its 100 years from birth, to the shots of Basil dedicated to the theme of the city, and then Mario Schifano and his monochromes, to the reflection on the Memorial Day by some contemporary artists: here is the next weekend of exhibitions Italian.
ROME - The exhibition scheduled at the Biblioteca Angelica from 20 January, the day on which the centenary of the director's birth falls, to 28 February is simply entitled "Federico Fellini". The project aims to tell the man next to the artist through a selection of thirty images from the National Photo Library (Experimental Center of Cinematography). The theme of the city through around 270 images, dated from the seventies to the year 2000: "Gabriele Basilico. Metropoli" arrives at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, from January 25 to April 13. From Beirut to Milan, from Jerusalem to Buenos Aires, between analogies and differences, the path - divided into five major chapters - reveals the attention the photographer has always shown towards the anthropized landscape, the development and historical stratifications of the cities, the suburbs in transformation.
A journey through time and space, through archeology: it is the exhibition "Fragments. Photographs by Stefano Cigada" set up at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere from January 22 to March 15 which offers 21 images in which the photographer overcomes the immobility of the ancient statues and makes them palpitate elevating the fragment to the protagonist. "Conversation Piece - Part VI" is the exhibition set up at the Memmo Foundation from 15 January to 22 March: following the subtitle "Reality is what does not disappear when you stop believing it" (quote contained in the essay How to build a universe that does not fall pieces after two days of the writer Philip K. Dick), the route presents works by Corinna Gosmaro, Philippe Rahm and Rolf Sachs through which the artists reflect on objects as possible agents of change.
MILAN - From 22 January to 20 March the Gió Marconi Gallery hosts "Mario Schifano. Something else": sixty years after their birth, the exhibition focuses on a nucleus of monochromes, created between 1960 and 1962, through which the artist wanted not only to reset the surface of the painting, but to give it another point of view to propose a new way of seeing and doing painting.
BOLOGNA - The dress-sculptures made in the most varied materials in Sissi's twenty years of career are the protagonists of "Vestimenti", a personal exhibition at Palazzo Bentivoglio from January 21 to April 19: in this small anthology, one of the Main Project of Art City Bologna 2020, the works are presented in a large installation project designed specifically for the exhibition space. Inserted in Art City is also "Cariatidi" by Luca Freschi, at the Jewish Museum of Bologna to celebrate the Memorial Day: scheduled from January 24 to March 8, the exhibition presents works of great metaphorical value - monumental sculptures composed of elements in painted terracotta and objet trouvé - which dialogue with the permanent collection by investigating the theme of collective historical memory.
GENOA - To commemorate the Shoah, Palazzo Ducale hosts the collective exhibition "Secret traces of memory" in the ancient cells of the Grimaldina Tower, in which the artists reflect on the lesson of history and human rights violated: from January 23 to February 9, works by Gianluca Capozzi are exhibited , Isabel Counselor, Elisabetta Di Sopra, Bernhard Draz, Silvia Margaria, Nano Valdes, Theo van Keulen. In the Tower there are also two collateral exhibitions, I bambini di Roman, a video installation by Gianluigi Colin, and Project Action T4, an installation by Giò Gagliano. (HANDLE).
